tough questions discussions.

oh, how i had good intentions of keeping this blog up as a record of our discussions. and oh how i've failed in this area. each week after our chats i drive home thinking over our time together. i think about how you all interact with one another, the endless chatter between the girls, the constant giggling of the boys (yes, boys giggle) and how we all come together each week to discuss, to fellowship, to have fun, to eat. it means a lot that you attend whether you know it or not. this time we share, i pray, is shaping you. our discussions, whether you participate actively or just listen, i am praying they shape you, help you to form your beliefs, your opinions, help you to grow in faith, allow you to explore doubts in a safe environment.

it's hard to put into words what we talk about each week which is funny because we use words, lots of words each time we meet. we talk about tough things. death, sharing our faith, homosexuality, beliefs in God, along side talks of school, sports, friends, family, and vacations. you see, when we meet we discuss so much more than just the topic at hand. we discuss life, this life that we are living together. i love living this life with you all.

i hope each of you "get" something out of this time each week. and maybe you won't realize today, or tomorrow or next month...but some day down the road you will look back and think "yes, youth group was good. it challenged me. it shaped me."

so, i will continue to try to capture what it is we discuss here in this space. but most importantly i hope each of you is capturing what we do in your hearts and minds.
